Along the way to 2019
The way is broad, the path is slippery. Only the spiked shoes can climb to the zenith. It is approximately seven months to a period of making a critical decision that will determine the way of life of Nigerians for the next four years.
Are we ready? Are Nigerians ready to face the reality? Many campaigns, jamborines, propagandas and political speeches have been flying over the whole ambience. Television radio stations have been enlightening and encouraging citizens to go and collect their permanent voters cards (PVCs). People are ambivalent about the way the election will go. Political aspirants are blabbing on their intentions. Hmmm, can we say Nigerians are prepared to face the reality?
Will Nigerians make a change again? After the thirst for another power of government has been quenched as a result of their incredulity in the former power, Nigerians have seen the tail of the coin. The reality has caught the idealistic Nigeria unaware with painful and ignominious experiences. The expectations of the people has been curtailed all the way. Words of sympathy, patience and endurance have encompassed the atmosphere from the incipient of the new government to sustain the people's support, nevertheless it is never strong enough to mollify the ever rising grumps. Will there be a need to cry out again for another saviour? Certainly.
Will Nigerians play the games with the desperate and ambitious politicians intellectually not materialistically again ? Retrospectively, It is well known in Nigeria that some vying political aspirants share some relief materials to appease the people to vote for them. This is a sardonic factor that has been undermining the democratic power of the citizens. They trade their so-called birthright with ephemeral deluding gifts, thereafter forgotten in the wilderness and wiped with the furious chains of anguish after elections. People really need to abolish that system of politics. We need shun all popcorns but demands corn processing factories. The shared 250 naira will never change our lives more than one half modules of gari.
Will Nigerians not be blindfolded and spoonfed with choking foods of retrogradation to vote the wrong person ?
Will Nigerian youths arise to a new dawn of revolution to choose better life ? There is a great power in the hands of Nigerian youths to emancipate every soul from the shackle of regression and oppression. Nigerian youths need to be awakened to fight for a better course. It is necessary for them to object the President's idealogy of a Lazy Nigerian Youths by demanding the right attention intellectually towards the election periods. Inquiry of public discourses, debates, symposiums and political conferences with these aspirants should be enormously increased among youth organizations. NANS, UCJ, STUDENTS UNIONS, Non governmental organizations should go beyond their walls to indirectly scrutinize the potentials of the hodgepodge of political desperadoes. We should show them that political aspirations is not a toothpicking matter. We should demand a better or reformed system of campaigning beyond dollar spraying platforms, bloody raised hands over nothing, superficial jumble of promises from a far distance, no more national stomach infrastructure that profiteth nothing nor baseless superficial sycophantic corruption fighting campaigns. We want better living idealogies than all those junks.
Nigerian youth, the options of either the amelioration or deterioration of your future depends on your decisions or actions now ? Will you forgo your next generation by your handicapped lazy sitting with the norm or will you polish it to glow by arising to make some revolutions of change of systems and methods to better politicking, electioneering and governance in Nigeria ?
I hope more people will not be disenfranchised just like the last election which entails erractic distribution of PVCs. I hope to see a free and fair election conducted by this incumbent authority. I hope to see an improving Nigerian system. I hope to see an awakened Nigerian youth. I hope to see a better life in Nigeria. God bless Nigeria.
