What should I do ?

Ade and Soji were intimate friends from primary school. They attended the same primary school, secondary school and also attended the same tertiary institution. These friends are both brilliant but Ade scored more.  One month before their final examination at secondary level, Soji lost his mother.

Soji’s father was a sailor who was rarely coming home. He did come home twice a year at Easter and Christmas. His mother, a primary school teacher, was a hardworking woman who took care of her children while the head of the family was away till she passed away. She would borrow money to pay her three children’s fees when nothing was sent from her husband and she was receiving little amount of money from her teaching job. She sometimes hawked around the street after school for more cash for the family. Soji is the first child of the family with other two little girls.

After the burial, Soji’s father left Soji to take care of their siblings but he left few amounts of money for Soji. Soji was disturbed mentally that he couldn’t concentrate on his study. Ade noticed that his friend was not working well. He decided to help him out. He decided to be visiting him every day to help him to get ready for his exams.

Ade would quickly go home to cook food for Soji and his siblings. Ade is the only child of his parent. Ade’s parents were very rich. His parents were aware of Ade’s friend condition so they allowed Ade to go Soji’s house. He helped him throughout their examination financially and psychologically.  At the end of the day, they both passed their examinations wonderfully.

Fortunately, they were admitted into the same higher institution. They grew up together through the levels in the higher institution. Ade still continued helping his friend Soji with Ade’s parent paying his school fee and they also took care of his siblings for his father rarely sent money to him.

Two months before his final paper he had that his father’s ship capsized which led to the death of his father. He was so down to the extent that he was almost mentally disordered. Ade assisted him, consoled him and comforted him. He stood by him till they finished their examinations. They passed the examination. They both graduated with a first class grade in engineering. They went for a year corps service to serve their nation. They lost contact after service because they served at different areas.

Four years later, Soji was fortunate to become the managing director of a big company.  While Soji and his fellow management team were preparing to interview people for recruitment, there came a sound from the door side that seems as slight touch but a knock. A tall handsome man walked into the interview room after he was invited in. To Soji’s amazement, He saw the same old friend who helped him in the past, Ade. Immediately he told the management team that any appointment with other candidates should be cancelled and the man should be employed immediately and he should resume immediately as the logistics manager.

Ade resumed as the logistics manager in the company. Soji called Ade to his office to interact with him. Ade narrated how the condition of his family changed and his wealthy father lost all his belongings and his mother died as a result of an ailment.  He told Soji his story how he struggled to survive and he never expected such quick employment approval but tried to apply with faith.

Soji ensured that he lived in a good house, bought clothes for him and also bought a brand new car for him. Ade’s life changed greatly with the help of his friend.

Three years later, it was confirmed in the company by the external auditors that goods that worth $3.5million were missing. After thorough investigation, it was observed that the logistic manager conspired with the internal auditor and the security personnel to transport the goods to an unknown destination. Soji was so shocked to see such an act from his friend that he knew so well. He did not know that a much known person can still have some unknowns in him.

He was worried. His brain was blank on what to do and how he can help his friend out. He does want his friend to lose his job and go to jail but the board of director are insisting on sacking Ade.
